The project’s webpage will have all the pieces you need to assemble a citation in your preferred style. Three common styles are detailed below. If you're citing a project in a manuscript, follow the author guidelines for the submission.

You can cite a project on a resume or a CV if you're an author. Use the citation style that is common in your field and that is consistent with any other references in your document.

To construct a citation, you will usually need the following elements:

  • Author name, which is listed in the work's website under the Creator field or on the work's title page
  • Title of project, listed under the work as Title or on the work's title page
  • Project format (e.g. scholarly project, capstone project, poster), which often comes from the program and may be found on the title page
  • The project's publisher (The University of Utah or EHSL) and the persistent URL to the project
  • Optionally, the program, school, or college, or degree the project was completed for, which may be found on the title page
